Smoke house at north end of Mc Koons Road, on Columbia Center Rd. (Rt 259) a mile below Polly Miller Road, three miles south of Ilion in 1960s. Richard Palmer blog.
As of 4/13/2019 neither the location or current status of the structure could be confirmed. Note that Mc Koons Road Rt. 101 terminates at Jordanville Rd. and continues north as Columbia Center Rd. Rt. 259 to the intersection with Polly Miller Road Rt. 124. The Route 472 reference in the Palmer blog is unknown and does not appear on a current map of the area. The distances quoted in the blog would locate the smokehouse on Columbia Center Rd. See "Map Location, Town of Columbia and Herkimer County Maps" link above for estimated location.
